Monday Memo July 29th!!! NVALs & Trivia Question

    Hello Otter Families!!! 

    It's a race to the finish line this week!!!! NVALs week is upon us!!!

    This is "Taper Week"; taper week is a week of recovery for swimmers so their bodies are primed for racing this weekend.  Hydration, nutrition, and rest is ideal.

    July 29th-Aug 1st-Taper Week, ALL Otters can swim through taper week. Regular group practice times.

    July 31st-Team Carb Load & Spirit Potluck Dinner 6:00pm-Orland High School Career Center- All swim families welcome. If possible, please attend, new board members are to be nominated by you, our membership, and your input is important and appreciated!!!

    August 1st-Yogurt Parfait "Make and Take" Please drop off or send your swimmer with a donation of: a tub of yogurt, fresh fruit, or granola, so the the kids can make and take breakfast.  Parfait making will happen after each group finishes practice.

    NVAL location:

    Redding Aquatic Center, 44 Quartz Hill Road, Redding, CA 96003. From I-5:Take 299 East/Burney Exit (#680), turn west onto Lake Blvd. and drive approximately .7 miles, turn left onto Market Street, drive 1.2 miles and turn right onto Quartz Hill Rd. The Redding Aquatic Center is about a half mile on the left.

    See attached image for the two usual places (in red) where the Otter's set up camp. Let's try and gather together in one of these two places, so our Good Vibe Tribe can show off our Team Spirit!!!!

    August 2nd-Day 1 NVALs. Warm-up time to be announced later this week. New for this year is a morning start for the meet at 10:00am

    August 3rd- Day 2 NVALs. Meet starts at 9:00am

    August 4th-Day 3 NVALs. Meet starts at 9:15am after Senior Swimmer Tribute

    Next Week 

    August 5th-9th. Season Ends. No Practice

    August 7th Awards Banquet and Potluck dinner at the Orland High School Career Center 6pm
