Dear Otter Squad,

Our hearts, thoughts, and deepest condolences are with the Rodgers family during this difficult time for the loss of our sweet Olivia Rodgers. 🙏🏾

1. THANK YOU to all 36 Otters competing in the Durham Dolphins Invitational this weekend! Orland Otters were the 4th place for highest team points with 1,103 points (141 pts behind Lassen who took the 3rd place prize, 428 pts behind Narwhals, and the home team Durham took 1st with 1,814 pts). LOTS of Otters brought home some serious hardware & ribbons and FOUR Otters were awarded high point trophies: Hudson Romano, Kenzie Galvan, Savannah Keeney, and Melanie van Tol. Congratulations!

2. LAWN MEETING is on for 7pm tomorrow 6/26 in front of the pool for updates on this week plus planning for the Otter Space Invitational – we need all hands on deck to make this event a success (plus we are available to help you sign up and ask any questions/provide feedback). Please bring a lawn chair. The Stroke & Turn practice is for Whites, Blues, and Seniors groups only at 7pm Monday night.

3. The OTTER SPACE Invitational is filling up fast. T-SHIRTS - We have attached a pre-order form to get your hands on this year's shirt/sweatshirt before all of the other teams!! The logo is on the top right corner of the attached form, the forms will be in your family folder tomorrow. Last year, we reached max capacity and some Otter families were unable to register in time to join the home team fun. The event will take place at the Orland Pool July 8 & 9, with a maximum of 4 events each swimmer per day. Please sign up TODAY before it's too late.

*go to the My Swimmers tab to Add your swimmer if he/she is not already there from last year or Durham.

*go back to the Enter Meets tab

*click on Otter Space Invitational blue hyperlink

*click the orange online meet entry

*click enter swimmer (for each child) and select events filling out the time entries close to the dual meet time or fill out 2 or 4 min depending on the length of the race.

*MAX events is 8, 4 max Saturday, and 4 max Sunday.

*there is a $10 splash fee to enter the race per child and then $5 per event.

*click Save

*add any additional children, then click "go to payment page," then "submit payment," and be sure to check out with credit card payment information in order to register for this meet

4. The PLUMAS RAPIDS Invitational held in Quincy is also open and filling up fast. Please follow the above instructions to sign up for this super fun camping swim meet as soon as you sign up for the Otter Space Invitational.

5. DUAL MEET Wed 6/28 v Corning & Willows 

Please sign up on Swimtopia as this meet entry will CLOSE by 11:59pm Tuesday 6/27. Dual Meets are TWO EVENTS max. We also encourage those who are ready to swim an IM (Individual Medley: butterfly, backstroke, breaststroke and freestyle) to sign up for the IM as a 3rd event if your child is proficient in all 4 strokes. To sign up for the dual meet, you will need to go to https://orlandotters.swimtopia.com and also please sign up for a volunteer shift at that time. We are still looking for TIMERS ⏱️

6. OTTER O THON pledge $ is due by July 1st. We do accept Venmo @Orland-Otters please turn in pledges (checks and cash) to a board member this week (Amy, Julie, Lisa, Shayla, Lindsay or Ruby).

7. FIREWORKS BOOTH double parent hours open shifts on Swimtopia:

3-6pm - 3 shifts

6-9pm - 2 shifts

Tue 7/4:

9am-12pm - 1 shift

12-3pm - 1 shift

3-6pm - 1 shift

6-9pm - 3 shifts
