Candidate Bios for election at Awards Dinner Wed 7/31 6pm

    President

    Amy Raymondo

I am a 4 year Otter myself, 1986-1989, an Otter Mom for the past 11 years for 3 of my children, and an Otter board member for a total of 6 years. Currently, my 2 Otters are in the Blue and Senior group. I’ve had the opportunity to bring my fresh ideas these past 2 years as your Otter President and I have many more in my bag I want to present in the years ahead. When I was first Treasurer in 2013-2014, I took the team finances over with virtually no money in our account and no starting blocks! Our board successfully fundraised over $20k to buy the swim blocks we still use to this day- Bunco night, 5k run, selling candy bars, bake sales, etc. you name it we were on it to complete our mission. This is the heart and drive I have brought back working alongside this phenomenal board to make these last 2 seasons unforgettable. While public speaking is not my strength, I implement leadership by delegating tasks to my fellow board members who strive in these areas. I work tirelessly and quietly behind the scenes, putting to good use my skills in process improvements including establishing fine tuned procedures and creating spreadsheets, to manage a team of this size, the biggest team in Otter history! If chosen to be your President for my 2nd term, I would love to bring stroke technique clinics to our team, do some pool deck upgrades & I am always open to listen to anything else you feel our program needs. I'm excited and ready for our 2025 & 2026 Otter Swim seasons!

    President

    Julie Champagne-Meredyk

This upcoming year will be my 40th year with the Otters in one capacity or another; the first 11 years were as a swimmer to coach to parent to Official to board member to treasurer to chairperson and back again. My daughter, Mikayla, was the head coach this year and my son, Ayden, is in the Senior group. I am also the American Red Cross lifeguard instructor for this area (Orland, Willows, Corning, and Durham) and have been for the past 10+ years. Before I made the decision to put time and effort to maintain being an instructor, Orland did not have a lifeguard training program of any kind and my classes are full each season. I own and operate Champ’s Bookkeeping for the last 2+ years for any bookkeeping, payroll, notary or UPS needs. My small business in our beautiful small town runs bookkeeping and payroll for the Otters among many other non-profit and profitable organizations in our community. We are not the accountant, that is Tim Sailsbury, and there are many checks and balance systems in place, as in within any board. I try very hard to be completely transparent in all things, so if you have a question, please ask me. I have 4 years left as an Otter parent and would like to improve our board, team, and our season, despite being pretty dialed in already with a fabulous board I have worked closely with; I do think there is room for improvement and growth. I look forward to working with all of you.
