Hi Otter Fam!

Reminder to sign up for our potluck tomorrow! We have approximately 72 families and only 25 signed up to attend our super fun Awards Banquet! We will also have elections. MEMBER AT LARGE has 1 current vacancy and 4 parents running for it! When the new board is elected, we hope to amend our bylaws to include another Member at Large to embrace the additional help!

Justin GIBBS

Father of Aubrey, 5th year Otter. I enjoy being a part of everything that my daughter is a part of. Helping in any way I can. DJ to most teams, I bring in good ideas to benefit all groups I'm affiliated with. I love community service, helping even when no one asks. I'm a team player, and I like to have fun. The Otter family is my favorite group to be apart of. I would appreciate your vote. Thank you, Justin. 

Katelyn LEMMON

Mom of one amazing Otter, 🦦 whites, Hayley. We've been an Otter for 3 years, and have a passion for creating fun memories for all the kiddos through design and decor. I've ran a successful daycare/preschool for 12+ years and was always athletic growing up, but never a swimmer. Love using lap swim to have my own otter teach me how to better my strokes. I've been on 2 other non-profit boards before, and can't wait to bring my smiles and ideas to this board. 

Amber SANCHEZ

Hi swim families! I’m a mom of two Otters, Iso & Ivy. We just wrapped up or third fun-filled year on the team, and I’ve loved being part of the action as the Ribbon Chair at the Otter Invitational the past two seasons (soo many ribbons!!). I’m running for Member at Large to support our awesome swimmers, families, and coaches in anyway I can. I truly believe that many hands make light work. I love being a part of the Otter Family, it’s so much fun watching the kids improve and gain confidence throughout the season! 

Dana SHEPPARD 

* Swim dad to 3 Otters: Lane, Madilyn, and Sawyer and a little future otter, husband to coach Tasha. 

* Just finished 3rd consecutive season with the Otters, this year being on the board as member at large. 

* I have a passion for helping others and being there where I am needed. I have mechanical hands, which were used to build the block racks this summer in the otter room as well as new insert locks for the blocks.

* I will always be there for your families, deciding what’s best for our team, cheering on your kids, and grateful to be apart of this Otter family.

Vice President Shayla Galvan 

I am a girl mom, ages 9 & 10! They keep us extremely busy as they love to participate in everything! I was an Otter as a kid, now watching our girls compete as Otters is so much fun! This is our 5th year on the Otters Swim Team - the determination, improvement and growth is amazing! Off the pool deck & in between other sports we love adventures, the beach, bike rides & family “chill” time!

Secretary Ruby Neumann 

*Mom of Lincoln and Zarrah in the Senior group, ages 13 & 11. 

*Joined the Otters in 2021, just completed our 5th season. Joined the board near the end of our 1st year to fill a communication vacancy on the board to get us thru our Invitational that year. I was ready to hand over the reigns to someone else interested but was told by several swim families that Secretary is my jam and I need to stay on those Monday Memos. So here I am again ready to serve my 3rd term. 

*This is my 2nd year as an Official for our team so all our kids can earn awards at Invitationals. I passed the high school swim test, but don't know how to swim well at all due to a mental block and I'm taking weekly swim lessons this year for myself to face my fears of water. I've made great progress, got a lot to work on to be a super smooth Otter like our children. 

*I have a lifelong passion for community service, efficient communication, and truly love being a part of the Otters swim team family. 

We will also be picking our 2026 OTTERS Invitational theme! Hope to see you all Wednesday night 7/30 at 530pm in front of the pool on the lawn! Bring a chair/blanket!
